* Leads the overall design and development of data warehouse and business intelligence solutions including Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), cube creation, reporting and design artifacts.
* Ensures data warehouse designs and implementations are compatible with a multi-platform environment that allows for an efficient, accurate transfer of data from the warehouse to business intelligence applications.
* Directs development teams in the delivery of business intelligence solutions, cube creation, ETL, reports, design and other related artifacts as required for each project.
* Ensures that implementation of solutions adheres to technical design and schedule specifications.
* Designs and implements high performance data reporting solutions that will form the backbone of TJX transformation initiatives.
* Assists in the development of project plans, and the identification and execution of project deliverables.
* Directs and participates in project-related data architecture tasks including logical and physical data modeling, data integration design, performance optimization, and metadata management.
* Works with Business Solutions, Data Architecture and design teams to move the project from business scope and requirements through architecture and technical design phase.
* Identify and design high performance solutions for data integration, platform, and infrastructure to support project deliverables. Identify and design high performance solutions for end user reporting and analysis tools.
* Ensures procedures and designs meet all regulatory.
* 8+ years of IT experience with 5+ years of large-scale BI project design and architecture experience.
* Experience should include installation and optimization of BI environment.
* Strong understanding of data analysis, dimensional modeling, data integration and warehousing design principles.
* Ability to work with business users and sponsors to gather requirements and interpret these requirements into technical specification.
* Ability to create a project plan/estimates to deliver on these requirements.
* Strong understanding of and experience with project management methodologies.
* Experience in InfoSphere, Netezza, Cognos, QlikView is required.
* Global Data Architecture experience is a plus.
* Ability to manage highly complex projects across multiple technical areas.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Leadership and team building skills.
* Ability to delegate, influence and motivate effectively.
* Ability to flexibly manage multiple priorities simultaneously independently or as part of a team.
* Knowledge of the retail business is desirable.
* Bachelor's degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
