* Provides direction and leadership in the development and design of the enterprise-wide data and information architecture for global TJX information technology. Creates a data management strategy to ensure consistency to enterprise architecture standards and to achieve strategic business objectives. Directs the design and configuration of data and information architecture including data staging areas, operational data stores, and data marts to ensure the efficient flow of accurate, standardized data from the source to the end user. Provides expert-level guidance in the areas of data analysis, design and modeling. Defines data and information architecture standards, policies and best practices. Evaluates and owns tools that are used to store and maintain enterprise metadata. Ensures compliance to data architecture standards. Leads the development of logical data models (LDMs) and the transition to physical data models (PDMs) for database design. Ensures designs meet business requirements and strategic objectives. Works with business partners to ensure appropriate terminology is applied for the classification of data. Identifies and defines business processes on the creation and change of data throughout the enterprise. Ensures the continual maintenance of high-quality, standardized data. Develops and implements the data governance strategy. Develops standards and procedures to ensure designs meet all regulatory, industry, internal compliance and industry best practice standards. Consults project teams on data architecture and participates in project planning. Manages and develops staff for future growth within the department and organization. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Owns, enriches and extends current TJX enterprise logical data models (LDM) and creation of global master data. Owns the tools and governs the content within an enterprise metadata repository. Gathers requirements, develops roadmap and communicates data governance strategy. Leads, develops and provides input to data usage designs in enterprise data integration efforts (Extract Transform Load/SOA) and in the creation of enterprise data integration and usage.
* Leads the development of logical data models (LDM), physical data models (PDM), data mapping and other related artifacts as required. Identifies and manages data lineage issues. Designs and implements the high performance data structures that will form the backbone of TJX transformation initiatives. Assists in the development of project plans and deliverable lists for proposed projects. Own master data management (MDM) and direction toward single version of truth.
* Leads and/or facilitates review of data models for key transformational projects in the enterprise such as Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW), Operational Data Store (ODS) and other master data management (MDM) initiatives. Own the creation and maintenance of data architecture, data governance and conventions.
* Consults and advises project teams regarding data architecture, including the facilitation of information gathering sessions. Provides data analysis services and documents them as required. Manages staff and develops them for future growth within the department and organization. Coaches staff on performance and professional development issues.
* Develops and implements data and information architecture design standards and policies Development and enforcement of a data governance model. Database design Definition of logical and physical data models Evaluates project plans and models Evaluates solution options to determine if they meet the business' needs and expectations. Estimates, plans, tracks, and forecasts departmental budget. Recommends departmental policy or strategy changes as required. Required Skills
* Minimum 10+ years of IT experience.
* 7 to 10 years of experience with large and complex database management systems and applications.
* Strong experience in Data/Information Architecture, Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Architecture, Database Management , Data Modeling, Data Services and Data Analysis.
* Experience in Oracle master data management platform.
* Experience in Erwin data modeling tool.
* Experience in Global Data Architecture environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong leadership, team building, people management skills.
* Ability to delegate and motivate effectively Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; flexibility in dealing with changing priorities.
* Strong understanding of and experience with project management methodologies.
* Strong knowledge of existing and emerging hardware and software technologies.
* Ability to influence and negotiate.
* Ability to manage highly complex projects across multiple technical areas.
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
